How Callwise handles personal data on this website and on the calls it answers for businesses.

Who we are

Callwise provides an AI phone assistant to businesses in Nigeria. For calls answered on a business's line, that business is the data controller and Callwise processes data on its behalf. For this website and for business accounts, Callwise is the controller.

What we collect on calls

The caller's phone number, what is said on the call (as a transcript), details given for bookings or messages such as name, dates and number of guests, and a recording only if the business has turned recordings on.

Every call begins by telling the caller that an AI assistant is answering and that the call may be recorded.

What we collect on this website

Details you send us through the demo form: your name, email, phone, business name, industry, city and message. We use them only to arrange a demo and follow up on it.

Why we use it

To answer calls, make bookings, pass messages and send summaries to the business; to send booking confirmations the caller asks for; and to keep the service secure and working.

How long we keep it

Recordings, when turned on, are kept for 30 days unless the business sets another period. Transcripts and summaries are kept while the business's account is active or until the business deletes them.

Where it is stored

On Microsoft Azure, encrypted in transit and at rest. Messages to WhatsApp are sent through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, or object to how it is used. If you called a business that uses Callwise, contact that business first; we will help them respond.
